Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (05/20/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 21,201 analyzes were carried out today and 4,581 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 4,581 new cases, 1,949 are from Montevideo, 627 from Canelones, 334 from Salto, 216 from San José, 211 from Maldonado, 193 from Tacuarembó, 182 from Paysandú, 165 from Colonia, 142 from Artigas, 129 from Soriano, 69 from Rivera, 60 from Río Negro, 59 from Cerro Largo, 55 from Durazno, 46 ​​from Florida, 45 from Lavalleja, 41 from Rocha, 37 from Treinta y Tres and 21 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,065,863 tests have been processed and 253,941 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 219,277 have already been recovered.

Today, 53 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (a detailed table is attached). So far there are 3,691 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 30,973 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 493 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 7,334 correspond to health personnel. 6,971 of them have already recovered, 344 are suffering from the disease and 19 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 249,365. Today 4,581 new cases and a total of 253,941 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 5 cases were eliminated.
