Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (03/11/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 12,438 analyzes were carried out and 1,238 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 1238 new cases, 682 are from Montevideo, 145 from Canelones, 74 from Rivera, 45 from San José, 41 from Cerro Largo, 31 from Salto, 30 from Maldonado, 29 from Tacuarembó, 28 from Artigas, 28 from Rocha, 26 from Río Negro, 25 from Paysandú, 22 from Florida, 14 from Colonia, 8 from Lavalleja, 6 from Treinta y Tres and 4 from Soriano. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 1,101,948 have been processed and 67,717 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 57,773 have already been recovered.

Today, 5 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country. They are 1 patient from Cerro Largo, 58 years old, 1 patient from Maldonado, 68 years old, 1 patient from Montevideo, 66 years old, and 2 patients from Colonia, 67 and 98 years old. So far there are 683 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

Currently there are 9261 active cases, that is, people who are developing the disease, 102 of them are in intensive care.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 3,644 correspond to health personnel. 3,234 of them have already recovered, 403 are suffering from the disease and 7 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATIONS:

• The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 66,484. Today, 1238 new cases and a total of 67,717 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because 5 cases were eliminated.
• In the total number of tests reported yesterday, the report from one of the laboratories that contained 3,423 tests was not included. These analyzes are included today in the accumulated test. It should be clarified that this situation did not affect the number of positive cases reported, since they are referred to the MSP through another mechanism: the computerized surveillance system.
