Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (02/10/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 6,933 analyzes were carried out and 627 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 627 new cases, 337 are from Montevideo, 107 from Canelones, 25 from Maldonado, 25 from Tacuarembó, 18 from Artigas, 17 from San José, 15 from Colonia, 15 from Rivera, 14 from Soriano, 11 from Cerro Largo, 11 from Durazno, 9 from Paysandú, 6 from Lavalleja, 6 from Rocha, 6 from Salto, 3 from Florida, 1 from Flores and 1 from Treinta y Tres. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 908,287 tests have been processed and 46,778 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 40,769 have already been recovered.

Today 10 deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. They are 1 patient from San José aged 70 years, 2 patients from Paysandú aged 86 and 88 years and 7 patients from Montevideo aged 25, 57, 60, 73, 83, 91 and 94 years. So far there are 516 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 5493 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 76 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 2,689 correspond to health personnel. 2394 of them have already recovered, 290 are suffering from the disease and 5 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 46,153. Today 627 new cases and a total of 46,778 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because 2 cases were eliminated.
The 25-year-old deceased person entered the care center for a cause other than covid-19, which later determined his death.
