KALLANG – The Singapore coach, Tatsuma Yoshida, never expected the quality of the game Indonesian National team much better than expected. Luckily, the team nicknamed The Lions still kept their breath in the 2020 AFF Cup after holding to a 1-1 draw in the semifinal first leg match, Wednesday (12/22/2021) night WIB.

In the first leg of the semifinals AFF Cup 2020 , Singapore was left behind in the 28th minute through Witan Sulaeman’s kick. The new hosts were able to equalize 20 minutes before the game was over through Ikhsan Fandi’s kick.

After the match, Yoshida admitted that the quality shown Indonesia much better than expected. However, he remained optimistic about his players, so he managed to equalize.

“I always have faith in the team. Indonesia has better quality than expected, but I always believe in the team,” said Yoshida on the official AFF Cup website, Thursday (12/23/2021).

The Japanese tactician assessed that some of his players were nervous. However, Yoshida hopes this match will give confidence to his players.

The reason is, the second leg will take place at the same place, on Saturday (12/25/2021). “Maybe some players are nervous. That is understandable, because playing in a big game at home, so they feel the pressure. However, this is only the first round. The next match is the second half, and we have to prepare in a short time,” concluded Tatsuma.
