Simic’s salary arrears at Persija are similar to the case of Marc Klok

Jakarta

Case salary arrears experienced Marko Simic from Persija Jakarta allegedly similar to what happened Marc Klok and Alex Goncalves. The problem is the salary cut when the 2020 Liga 1 stops.

Simic made a surprising confession about Persija not being paid for a year. This problem caused Simic to be often eliminated by Persija during the BRI Liga 1 last season.

The Croatian player has missed Persija’s last six matches. Previously he was also often withdrawn in the second half, something that Simic rarely experienced while defending the Kemayoran Tigers.

What happened to Simic was suspected to be about cutting the salary value in the 2020 season. At that time, PSSI issued a Decree (SK) regarding cutting the maximum salary value of 25 percent because the competition was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic after only running for three weeks.

Several foreign players were not satisfied with the decision. One of them is Marc Klok who continues to demand Persija to continue to pay it with a maximum value of 100 percent.

In the end, Klok terminated his contract with Persija. Then he made a surprising decision to join Persib Bandung, which incidentally is Persija’s rival.

Apart from Klok, there is also Alex Goncalves (ex Tira Persikabo) who has reported the issue of salary deductions to the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC). Both Klok and Alex both demanded full salary payments.

Well, the Simic case is strongly suspected to be the same as Klok and Alex. So that the salary arrears he experienced occurred in the 2020 season, not in the following season.

“Indeed there is case between Persija and Simic. But professionally Simic hire (hire) a lawyer from his country. To APPI is only limited to communication and (requesting) advise as a member,” said the CEO Indonesian Professional Players Association (APPI) Mahardika Aji, at the journalists’ forum.

“Details can’t be shared as we don’t hold the power. However this is impact from contracts during the COVID-19 pandemic era which had to change due to an addendum (contract adjustment),” he said.

Although not specifically disclosed, Aji’s statement above confirms the allegation. Simic demands payment of 100 percent salary from the 2020 season. Aji also does not deny that Simic’s case is indeed similar to Alex’s, which means it is also the same as Klok’s problem with Persija.

“Similar (like Alex’s case). Yes, foreign players in the 2020 League 1, but not playing in the 2021 League on average because they don’t agree on the addendum. Some end up in DRC, some agree terminate (break the contract),” said Aji.
