The incident occurred on the afternoon of January 21. The flight involved, 3U8424, took off from Changchun Longjia International Airport at 12:44. The right engine suddenly erupted in flames while climbing normally. The crew responded quickly and immediately used the aircraft’s fire suppression system.
The plane climbed to an altitude of 2,400 meters and then flew north of Changchun City. It circled for more than an hour before returning to Longjia Airport, and finally landed safely at 14:32. For safety reasons, the aircraft did not stop at the bridge and taxied to a remote stand for passengers to disembark.
