A Covid-19 pandemic delayed the disclosure of the ranking of national exams, which this Friday is made public.

This year, unsurprisingly, the results show that, in 2019, private education continues to occupy the top places in the secondary education table and there are 11 public schools in the first 50 positions.

First public school in 34th place in the ranking

Private education has been pushing the public into the national exam table for secondary education. The first public school enters six places later than in 2018.

In the SIC / Expresso ranking, and with more than 100 exams, the well-known Infanta D. Maria Secondary School, in Coimbra, is the first, but in 34th place, with an average of 13.02 points.

The second is a revelation: the Basic and Secondary School, Dr. Serafim Leite, in São João da Madeira, with an average of 12.96 points. It went up 365 places in the exam table.

In the first 50 schools with the best grades, there are 11 public schools in Coimbra, Braga, Porto, Viseu, Aveiro and Lisbon.

In a curious way, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, in Braga, there are three public schools in very positive positions:

  • Padre Benjamim Salgado High School, 12.5 values, (48th)
  • Camilo Castelo Branco High School, 12.03 values, (66th)
  • D. Sancho I Secondary School, 11.91 values, (82nd)

Schools: no surprises

Professional Education gains ground
