Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Health, reported that the federal government detected a problem of drug and material shortages in the National Institute of Neurology caused by actions of intermediaries.

“It is not due to lack of budget, the money exists, it is not because of the government’s indisposition since they have contracts with intermediaries for the provision of inputs,” he explained.

During the president’s morning conference Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the official explained that there was a history of lack of supplies and partial closures of medical care, so an inspection visit was made.

López-Gatell stressed that the shortage in the hospital is not due to the federal government’s unwillingness to provide medicines and materials, but to the contracts that hospitals have with intermediaries.

“There was a lack of medication, lack of healing material and other supplies. The great concern and this I want to make it clear: society asks, And why does it not have the inputs ?, then it is the fault of the government?, This is the point we want to point out, intermediaries “
