Shopify announces new partnership with Spotify

By connecting the Spotify and Shopify apps, artists can now target listeners where they are and showcase their products that go beyond traditional merchandise.

Shopify, a commerce company whose technology allows it to launch, manage and grow its business, today announces a new strategic partnership with Spotify offering artists the opportunity to go beyond traditional merchandising. These artists can now build their full brands with the best of audio streaming, but also of commerce. Artists all over the world can now link their Shopify store to their Spotify account for Anglo-Saxon audiences (in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand).

Using the Spotify channel, artists can now showcase products where listeners and fans are most interested in their music. By connecting their “Spotify for Artists” account to their Shopify online stores, artists can sync their product catalogs and seamlessly showcase the products of their choice directly to their Spotify profiles. Anglo-Saxon fans can thus consult and buy them more easily.

Bringing fans closer to artists

With Shopify, artist-entrepreneurs have access to an all-in-one commerce platform to manage their brands across multiple touchpoints. They have access not only to social channels, popular entertainment channels and marketplaces, but also today to one of the most popular audio streaming services in the world.

Thousands of artists have already chosen Shopify as their commerce platform. With this launch with Spotify, we’re going one step further, bringing fans even closer to artists. Today’s artists have an entrepreneurial spirit. They create multi-faceted brands and businesses and we want to make it easier for them to meet their fans where they are. By bringing this entrepreneurial spirit to Spotify, we’re empowering artists to think beyond traditional merchandising with new ways to monetize and experience commerce.
