The key minister from Petkov’s cabinet, Nikolay Sabev, who likes to be called Nick, gathered high-ranking statesmen and deputies in a secret meeting in a luxury restaurant meters from the Monument to Tsar Liberator in Sofia, eyewitnesses told BLIC.
Sabev was the first to arrive at the secret rally, parking his Mercedes jeep for BGN 200,000 on the yellow cobblestones. Then fat politicians entered the stingy restaurant and sat down at a secluded table in the corner.
For more than an hour, Sabev whispered convincing words to his diners to support the cabinet in Wednesday’s upcoming vote, which decides the government’s fate.
Sabev, an experienced negotiator who has generously funded the “Change” with hundreds of thousands of levs, knows how to achieve his goals. The ambitious Nick will certainly not stop at anything in his path to save the integrity of the Council of Ministers and his own survival.
While they were served sumptuous delicacies, Sabev and the people sitting around the table were careful not to be noticed by the rest of the restaurant.
