The pharmacist at Pharmacy A paid 5,999 won every day at Pharmacy B. The pharmacist at Pharmacy B also paid 5,999 won every day at Pharmacy A. Why did they pay ‘5,999 won’ without missing a day?

Shinhan Card announced on the 22nd that as a result of recent monitoring of customer transaction types, it discovered many cases where some pharmacists appear to have used the cards of themselves, acquaintances, family members, etc. illegally.

The number of customers who showed suspicious card use behavior reached 890. What they used was the ‘Shinhan The More Card’. If you pay more than 5,000 won, all amounts less than 1,000 won will be accumulated as points. If you pay 5,999 won, you can receive 999 won in points.

The 890 customers identified by Shinhan Card are all pharmacists or pharmacists’ acquaintances and family members. It seems to reflect the professional characteristics of owning one’s own affiliated stores and being able to make card payments at pharmaceutical wholesale malls, etc.

A representative method was to pay 5,999 won every day at each other’s pharmacies. At a certain pharmaceutical wholesale mall, about 10 Shinhan Card customers paid 5,999 won each day. In this case, the approval order for each card number was the same every day, and the approval time interval was only 1 to 2 seconds. It is presumed that one person collected the card numbers and continued to make payments in a certain order.

There were even several cases where one pharmacist accumulated points worth more than 1 million won per month using this method. Points are only accumulated once a day at one affiliated store. This means that 5,999 won was paid every day at over 30 different affiliated stores.

Considering the fact that payments occur at similar times every day at specific affiliated stores far from the customer’s home or workplace, Shinhan Card believes that these cases were made to look like credit card transactions without transferring or transferring the card or providing actual goods or services. estimate. Accordingly, it is believed that the Specialized Credit Finance Business Act has been violated. Shinhan Card plans to suspend the cards of 890 customers who have shown usage behavior that violates existing laws and standard terms and conditions for credit card individual members, starting from the 29th, after going through individual guidance and explanation procedures.
