Shin Tae-yong at the press conference at the end of the 2020 AFF Cup final match between Indonesia and Thailand, voiced his disappointment with the organizers, whether it was the tournament committee or the Singapore government.
He wondered why four Indonesian national team players, namely Rizky Ridho, Rizky Dwi, Elkan Baggott and Victor Igbonefo, were banned from participating in the second leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final against Thailand. In fact, according to Shin Tae-yong’s confession, the four names above broke the bubble long before the Indonesian national team played the 2020 AFF Cup final.
Even according to PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi, the federation has already paid a fine for the violation. Uniquely, one day before the second leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final was rolled out, the Singapore government banned the four names above from appearing.
“This morning, it was reported that the four players could not be played. The problem is that this incident occurred on December 15 (December 2021),” said Shin Tae-yong at a post-match press conference, Saturday, January 1, 2022.
“Because (our players) were too cramped in the room all the time, but they only came out for a while and were given a warning penalty and we are okay,” continued the South Korean tactician.
