She’s a little flirting

Subwoolfer and their “Give That Wolf a Banana” is Norway’s contribution to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, where the final will take place in Turin on 10 May.

In advance, NRK arranged a press conference where the duo and “Adresse Torino” presenter Marte Stokstad posed.

In 2020, she took over as commentator for ESC after Olav Viksmo-Slettan, and will therefore join the Norwegian delegation to Italy.

Bet on sweaty wolves

– I spend quite a lot of energy thinking about how these wolves will cope in 23 degrees Celsius in Turin. It’s a bit of a complicated bunch to go with, she says.

Subwoolfer, who from the beginning has run the concept that they are two wolves from space, has wanted to keep their identity hidden by using masks and a separate “translator” to convey their space language.

– Do you know who is hiding behind the masks?

– I can comment on a lot, but I can not comment on it.

Stokstad believes Norway is strong in the international final.

– I think we are guaranteed to get to the final and that Norway ends up in the top ten. There are many ballads this year, and this is a song that stands out in the crowd and has received a lot of attention already, Stokstad believes.

Hints at Spanish flirting

At the moment, Norway is in 8th place on the betting list eurovisionworld.com. The wolves “Keith” and “Jim” have faith in their own chances of winning.

– We hope and believe that they are big, it would have been crazy. We get to breathe with our stomachs and take it to task. We see that the odds point a bit in our favor. We like that people have faith in us, says Subwoolfer’s spokesperson.

The duo is active on TikTok, and this is also where one of the wolves has been observed together with Spain’s selected artist – Chanel. She and the song “SloMo” are in 5th place on the betting list.

– Well, who does not fall for these handsome guys here? It is clear, says the spokesperson, and continues:

– We have met her several times now. She’s a little flirting. There has been some arguing internally then, but now Chanel has a couple of dancers with her even then. So we expect to find a solution.

Last year it was blasted then «TIX» (29) and Efendi (31) flirted on social media and in interviews during the Eurovision final. It created a lot of attention around them, but both still ended up far down the results list, with TIX in 18th place and Efendi in 21st place.

In retrospect, Andreas Haukeland has denied that the flirtation was a PR stunt:

– I really fell in love. Since there was so much out in public, I understand that it can seem like a game for the gallery, Haukeland said to Good evening Norway in March.

Cheers to Norwegian competitor

Whether Subwoolfer wants to create the same type of media print this year or not, the duo is clear that they want to create a good atmosphere in Turin.

Should they not walk away with the victory themselves, they hope it goes the way of this competitor:

– We cheer on Amanda Tenfjord.

Norwegian-Greek Tenfjord has been hand-picked to represent Greece this year, and is currently right in front of Subwoolfer with a 7th place on the betting list.
