Shell keeps loss for AEX limited | Financial

The AEX index ended 0.1% lower at 610.94 points. The Midkap index fell 0.8% to 905.72 points. The price signs in Frankfurt (-0.5%) turned red, while Paris climbed 0.02%. The London stock market rose 1.2% after the United Kingdom has turned the light to green for the corona vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech.

After the nice price gains in recent weeks, investors at Beursplein 5 slowed down. But asset manager Renco van Schie (Valuedge) expects prices to rise further this month. “I think sentiment will remain positive towards Christmas. Investors are preparing for a post-corona world and are willing to take more risks. A lot of money flows from bonds and cash to shares, ”says Van Schie.

On Wall Street the mood was good on Tuesday evening. The Nasdaq tech exchange and the broad S&P 500 index sharpened their records. However, at the end of the afternoon today, the US stock markets pulled back a gear and headed flat to slightly lower.

Shell at the head, Galapagos at the bottom

In the AEX was Royal Dutch Shell the leader with a plus of 2.8%. Investment bank JPMorgan has increased its investment advice for shares of the oil and gas group to ‘overweight’. Shell was also in demand thanks to the higher oil price.

Payment service provider Adyen became worth 1.6% more. Paint manufacturer AkzoNobel (+ 1.2%) was also cheerful.

KPN became worth 1.3% more. The telecom company will start deploying large parts of its telephone and internet network in the Netherlands from 2022 which now run via copper cables.

Heineken was appreciated by investors with a plus of 0.7%. The brewer benefits from a buying advice from analysts from Citigroup. In addition, Heineken is doing in China brand Amstel to put into the market.

The main funds included a biotechnology company Galapagos at the bottom with a loss of 2.1%. Food giant Unilever was written down 1.7%. Prosus, also a heavyweight in the AEX, lost 1.2%. According to Bloomberg news agency, the tech investor wants to invest in online platforms that deal with elderly care, in order to respond to the growing demand in that market due to the corona crisis.

In the Midkap left Fugro saw a wild ride and traded 19% lower than Tuesday. Corrected for the ex-claim of the share, there is a plus of 9%. On Monday, the light was given for the rights issue to the soil researcher, the conditions of which were announced on Tuesday after the close of the market. In the rights issue, Fugro wants to sell shares for € 2.12 each. In addition, 13 shares entitle the holder to purchase 11 new shares. The rights can be exercised until December 10th.

Smallcapfonds Acomo (Amsterdam Commodities) decreased 5.6% to € 20.25. The tea, nuts and spices trading house has issued € 96 million worth of shares for € 19.50 each. Acomo wants to use the proceeds for the acquisition of Tradin, an organic ingredients company. This transaction involves € 330 million.

Ajax headed unchanged. The football club lost 1-0 to Liverpool on Tuesday. Like the Amsterdammers next week win against Atalanta Bergamo they are still through to the next round in the lucrative Champions League.
