Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Visits Liwa Dates Festival and Auction: Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs in Abu Dhabi

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, visited the Liwa Dates Festival and Auction in its second session, which is organized by the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the Emirates Heritage Club. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak followed part of the date auction, which witnessed competitions between participants to acquire luxury Emirati dates. He reviewed the exhibits of the date market and related industries, in which a number of Emirati date factories and farmers in the country participate. He also visited the pavilions of the sponsors and supporters of the festival, the pavilions of local and foreign companies, agricultural shops and participating factories, and learned about the palm products, dates and related industries they offer. It includes the latest agricultural developments and research in the field of palm trees and agriculture in general. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak reviewed the agenda of programs and festivals of the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi and the Emirates Heritage Club, as well as the competitions and pillars of the festival.

He listened to a brief explanation of the festival from the Director of the Planning and Projects Department of the Committee for Managing Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs in Abu Dhabi, Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, as well as the most prominent stations of the festival, especially the main events and competitions that continue until the 30th of this month in the city of Liwa in the Al Dhafra region.
