Libuška and Miroslava formed one of the most beautiful acting sisters together in the 1970s. However, although their charm was unquestionable, they played together in only one film. That was the movie The Little Mermaid from 1976 by director Karel Kachyna. The story was about the tragic love of a sea creature for an earthly prince, for whom he sacrifices his voice and life. A number of elements that were very demanding at the time were used in the film, and the artistic side and movement expression of the representatives of the underwater world played a big role in it. In the film, Libuška portrayed a princess from the neighboring empire and the younger Miroslav just a little mermaid.
Miroslava Šafránková’s promising career was interrupted by her studies and departure abroad. She moved to West Germany, where she began studying at the Faculty of Economics in Mainz. She earned a bachelor’s degree there and lived there for some time because she got married in Germany. She was introduced back to Czechoslovakia until the main role in the series Arabela returns.
