sharp slowdown in rail traffic between Lyon and Dijon

Thursday August 5, an incident near Dijon caused significant delays north of Lyon.

Work had to be carried out unexpectedly in Burgundy on the railway lines. Freight trains saw their route modified on Thursday, August 5 in the morning, and increased traffic between Lyon and Dijon. The number of trains on the tracks being too large, the SNCF has slackened the traffic significantly in order to regulate it.

Significant delays of several tens of minutes must therefore be declared since 8 am on the line from Dijon to Lyon. It regularly serves the stations of Saint-Germain-au-Mont-d’Or, Villefranche-sur-Saône, Belleville-sur-Saône, Mâcon, Tournus, Châlon-sur-Saône, Chagny and Beaune.
