Shakira continues to demonstrate that her role as a mother is not an impediment to continuing her career in music and this September 11 she gave her son Sasha a surprise.
Hours before the singer is recognized at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards with the Video Vanguard Award this Tuesday the 12th in New Jersey, the Colombian shared another professional achievement with her 9-year-old little boy.
In a building in the well-known Times Square area in New York, Shakira showed him one of the spectacular screens where she appears.
“A little surprise for my son in Time Square,” reads the image where Sasha appears from behind looking at the enormous image of her mother.

In addition to receiving the award, Shakira will also perform on the VMAs stage and, if that were not enough, she is nominated in four categories: Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration (‘TQG’ with Karol G), Best Latin Song (‘TQG’ ), Best Latin Song (‘Acróstico’).
Shakira and her children do not separate
Since becoming a mother, Shakira has shown that she is a present mother and does not separate herself from Milan or Sasha.
Now that she lives with her children in Miami, the 46-year-old singer-songwriter takes them everywhere, even to the award ceremonies to which she is invited, such as the last Premios Juventud ceremony, where Gerard Piqué’s children stole the camera.
