This is not an easy time for Shakira (46)! Just over a year ago, the singer and her then partner Gerard Piqué (36) made their separation public. The reason for this is said to have been the footballer’s infidelity. The “Hips Don’t Lie” interpreter now lives in Miami with their two children Milan (10) and Sasha (8), while Gerard lives in Barcelona. Now Shakira speaks openly about her new everyday life as a single mother.
This often seems to pose a big problem for the singer. “Sometimes I think the rhythm of a pop star and that of a single mother are not compatible,” she admits in an interview with Billboard. “I have to put my kids to bed and then go to the recording studio. If you don’t have a husband who can stay home with the kids, you have to constantly juggle because I want to be a present mother and I also have to make money at the same time,” Shakira explains her situation.
Nevertheless, the Colombian doesn’t seem to be able to get herself down. The Grammy winner occasionally tries to take her children with her to work. Just a few days ago, Shakira came to the MTV Video Music Awards together with Milan and Sasha. The trio posed beaming for the photographers.
