In today’s Lakers home game against the Nets, Kyrie Irving sprayed trash in the first quarter, mocking his former teammate LeBron James for not scoring a free throw.
In the last 2 minutes of the first quarter, Jordan was blown off for three seconds, and the Lakers asked LeBron to perform a technical foul. As a result, LeBron didn’t make a penalty.
Irving laughed at the time and shouted in the direction of the Lakers bench: “He is your best free throw player?”

In an interview at the beginning of the season, Anthony Davis believed that Caldwell-Pope was the best basketball player on the team and would choose him to perform critical free throws. The media informed LeBron that after AD’s choice, LeBron joked: “Caldwell-Pope is indeed very good. Our entire team is very good, but I dare to assure AD that I will be the most accurate for the most critical free throw.” Rving Apparently he was making fun of this interview.
In the past few seasons, LeBron’s free throws have been unstable, and his shooting percentage has hovered around 70%. As a scorer with an easily over 50% field goal percentage and close to 38% from three-pointers this season, LeBron’s free throws are indeed somewhat sluggish.
Irving said this in front of LeBron, but LeBron didn’t fight back when he didn’t hear it.
