There is still no major revolt, but resignation and depression are increasing. He said that on Wednesday in an interview with the Look and warned: The Federal Council will lose support among the population if it cannot guarantee this livelihood. Maillard therefore calls on the Federal Council to quickly present a strategy. It takes a perspective, he said.
A clear objective is crucial. If it is enough that the risk groups are vaccinated, it could be eased earlier. Or do 60 to 70 percent of the population have to be vaccinated? Then the logic of the shutdown will remain for a long time, said the SP National Council. The Federal Council must speak clearly here.
Relaxation for the young too
With regard to easing, Maillard believes that with today’s figures, the first easing steps should be possible. He’s not only thinking of museums, but also of sports. There, too, relaxation is needed – especially for the young. While there are certain risks associated with it, a zero-risk strategy is impossible.
The question is how to quickly create the conditions to allow these easing. It is important that there are good protection concepts. The controls are also crucial to ensure that they are complied with, said the SGB president.
On Tuesday, the SGV trade association called for the shops to be opened on March 1. The economy has protection concepts that are comprehensive and have proven themselves, said SGV President Fabio Regazzi.
