American actor Willie Garson has died. He is best known as Stanford Blatch in Sex and the city. Garson was 57 years old.

Garson’s character was one of the best friends of lead character Carrie Bradshaw, played by actress Sarah Jessica Parker. He appeared in 27 episodes throughout the six seasons of the hit TV show. He also reprized his role in the two films that were made after the series.
Garson also had several other minor TV roles and also popped up on some popular shows such as Friends, The X-Files on Boy meets world.
The actor is also said to have signed for the revival series of Sex and the city called Just like that. It is currently being filmed in New York, but it is not clear whether the actor had already completed his shooting.
The news of his death was announced by his son. A cause of death was not disclosed. Garson was 57 years old.
