The E19 towards the Netherlands was completely blocked for hours on Friday at Transportzone Meer near the Dutch border. Three trucks had crashed into each other.

The driver of one of the trucks was heavily trapped in the cab. The Fire Department Zone Taxandria, in collaboration with the Dutch fire department, was able to quickly liberate the victim. The driver was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The handling of the traffic accident took all afternoon. The road was still blocked on Friday evening around 7 pm. Long-distance traffic from Antwerp to the Netherlands was diverted via the A12 along Bergen-op-Zoom.
