From March 15 to 22, 2024, the international series festival, Séries Mania, returns to Lille (North), with its share of artists, coming from the four corners of the world, but also extraordinary activities. Among them, the traditional exhibition at the Tripostal, this year on an exciting theme: the hidden professions of the series.
The public is thus invited to discover “Behind the scenes”, as the exhibition is called, by also meeting four atypical professionals. Their interventions are scheduled between March 16 and 22 (without further details for the moment).
Eatable legs for Hannibal, the Valyrian language…
There will be Janice Poon, food stylist. She makes all kinds of very realistic or imaginary dishes, most often “gory”, such as edible legs, for the eponymous serial killer Hannibal, or even space whale steak in Star Trek: Discovery. At Tripostal, she will host a live culinary workshop to develop eyeballs… edible of course!
Also present will be David and Jessie Peterson, language creators. They will thus explain how we come to develop a language like High Valyrian, heard in Game of Thrones, or other dialects associated with the series Dune, Defiance and Motherland: Fort Salem.
Finally, costume designer Valérie Adda will reveal all of her manual talent: she is the one who dresses the French heroines in Les Combattantes and Le Bazar de la Charité.
Another originality, in Lille, the iconic car of Starsky and Hutch will make appearances in the streets of the city… Keep your eyes peeled, including for the precise times of the workshops on the hidden professions of the series!
