The Labibliotekroz dance company is organizing an interactive platform called SENTO for its 2023 artistic start. The meeting will take place on March 18, 2023 from 3 p.m., at the Dune Coffee shop and Soul food Ampandrana. For this first edition, Labibliotekroz will publicly expose how to work and prepare a choreographic piece.
It is an immersion of the public of all ages and all borders, in the artistic approach of the company. SENTO will therefore be the bridge that Labibliotekroz hopes to create between the company and the public. A moment of meeting and sharing which aims to introduce people uninitiated to dance to what can be defined as behind the scenes and the practices that are hidden behind an artistic work.
« In my humble opinion, I think that the artistic professions lack highlight, the public only sees what is happening on the stage, and is often not aware of all the work that a work requires “, underlines Nazari Tooj, the founder of this dance company.
This is where they came up with the idea of exposing what is happening behind an artistic work, the facets that people do not see. “ It’s not just about exposing but really about inviting those present to come in and follow the process. he adds.
The event will be open to the general public, dance enthusiasts, professionals, art enthusiasts or just curious.
On the program of this unique event in which the public will actively participate, a rehearsal which will involve warm-up and sequence of movements, a sharing of one-minute dance sequences, a performance of a piece already entirely worked and a projection of the SENTO video and its backstage.
The session animated by the 8 members of the company, will be closed by a discussion on the procedure of creation and the felt on a work, around a good drink.
For the record, Labibliotekroz was founded in 2014 by Nazaria Tooj who has more than 10 years of experience in classical and contemporary dance. Trained by Ariry Andriamoratsiresy and Aimée Razafimahaleo, he has shared the stage with a plurality of Malagasy companies which have established a rich technical foundation through different ways of expression. Since 2014, he has aspired to breathe new life into the Malagasy contemporary scene through this company which aims to highlight everyone’s personality. Most of the time, she creates in relation to subjects that shock or are subject to controversy at the level of society. One can cite for example “The advent of the first rules” in the play Jil, “schizophrenia” in the play Mindly Mada, “anti-conformity” in the play Zava and so many others.
