– We have decided to notify the prosecutor regarding the illegal financing of Solidarna Polska. Apparently, the prime minister has some opinion on the matter and perhaps has information he should share with law enforcement, the KO MP added.

As we wrote on Wednesday, although the tensions between Mateusz Morawiecki and Zbigniew Ziobro are nothing new, the content of the latest news published by Confidential Conversation is sensational. The author of the email is the Prime Minister, who on the night of 23 September 2020 described the situation in the coalition to his closest collaborators. It was the height of the crisis within the ruling camp.

Between summer and autumn 2020, PiS, Solidarna Polska and Jarosław Gowin’s agreement were negotiating a new coalition agreement. However, the conflict between the head of the government and the minister of justice got in the way. Law and Justice politicians publicly threatened that the coalition would not survive.

Morawiecki wrote directly in an email that after Ziobro’s eventual expulsion from the government, the prosecutor should look after his party’s finances: PiS – albeit out of fear. there will also be a controversy for the center-right voters – that for us there are no sacred cows and we keep our accounts with all severity “- we read.

In August 2020, or one month before sending this e-mail, Onet communicated the reason for the redemption investigation into alleged embezzlement of EU money by Zbigniew Ziobro’s party. The point is that Solidarna Polska organized a party congress, claiming that it was a “climate congress” because thanks to it she got the money of the European Parliament. However, it is doubtful that climate-related topics were discussed at the event.

The case was described in November 2016 by “Newsweek” reporters, Wojciech Cieśla and Michał Krzymowski.

Interestingly, the day Morawiecki sent the email, PiS finally reached an agreement with Zbigniew Ziobra and three days later a new coalition agreement was signed. One of the effects of the agreement was the entry into the government of Jarosław Kaczyński himself as Deputy Prime Minister for Security.
