The states of the European Union were to decide on the opening of the Schengen area to other countries this Saturday. However, the discussions did not lead to a final decision.
However, the EU ambassadors had already proposed a list of countries whose residents could be allowed to come to the Schengen area.
This list is drawn up on the basis of countries whose epidemiological situation (Covid-19) is considered to be “controlled” and similar to that of Europe. In this list, there are 4 African countries: Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Rwanda.
Andorra, Monaco, the Vatican, San Marino, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, New Zealand, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Uruguay and the China complete the list.
Note that the Usa, the most affected country in the world, is not part of the list of authorized countries.
