He was sentenced to six years in prison for a man who sent a letter to Shincheonji Church with a poisonous drug asking him to send 1.4 billion won through bitcoin.

According to law enforcement officials on the 22nd, Chief Judge Kim Ho-seok, who was solely responsible for the Daejeon District Court, sentenced Mr. A (51), who was indicted on the charges of attempting blackmail, to six years in prison.

Judge Kim said, “I tried to blackmail against the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, who was blamed in the new Corona 19 situation, but it was only attempted,” he said. Judge Kim added, “The crime is very bad because the amount of money we tried to extortion is a large sum.”

In August of last year, Mr. A wrote a letter stating,’If you do not send 1.44 billion won in bitcoin, you will be poisoned with poison gas and liquidation in any of the 12 tribes.’ He is charged with sending it to two places, including the Peace Training Institute of Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do. Mr. A sent this mail to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus as the sender at the time, but it was returned due to refusal of receipt by the Peace Institute, and was subsequently caught by the police. The police found Mr. A as a digital forensic method of USB.

In 2015, Mr. A threatened a domestic parent company, saying, “I put liquidation into powdered milk,” and was sentenced to two years in prison.
