Erzgebirge Aue was released on Thursday when the players’ bus became involved in an accident. The players and trainers of the club from the Second Bundesliga were not injured.
The selection of Erzgebirge Aue was on its way to Nuremberg for the away match against 1. FC Nürnberg on Friday evening when the bus on the A72 was hit by debris from an accidented car, the club reports on its site.
Two windows of the bus were killed, but the players and trainers were unharmed. The trip to Nuremberg continued in a number of smaller vans.
According to Bild the driver of the crashed car was seriously injured. The BMW crashed into the crash barrier, crashed several times and came to a stop on its side.
The Second Bundesliga resumed last week. Erzgebirge Aue ranks sixth at the second highest level in Germany.
