Seized Cars from Ex-Deputies’ Relatives Donated to Ukrainian Army by State Bureau of Investigation

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation donated 17 cars, which were arrested from relatives of ex-deputies Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak, for the needs of one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details: In particular, 12 trucks, a truck crane, a minibus, a van and two SUVs were handed over. The cost of the vehicles is US$1.1 million.

These vehicles belonged to an enterprise of relatives of Medvedchuk and Kozak, who were involved in financing Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. They are also the subjects of criminal proceedings regarding the illegal extraction of sand at two quarries in the Lviv region.

What came before: At the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, in April 2022, these vehicles were seized as part of a criminal investigation on suspicion of abuse of power and violation of the rules for the protection or use of subsoil.
