Less than two years after the last elections, the inhabitants of Pre Saint-Gervais (Seine-Saint-Denis) will have to return to the polls. Sunday 5 December 2021, the first round of municipal elections is organized, following the cancellation of the last ballot by the Council of State.
Six lists in the first round
Like March 2020, six lists are presented in the first round of the ballot, to succeed Laurent Baron. A change compared to the 2020 elections: the absence of the Le Pré otherwise list, of Mariama Lescure and the arrival of that of Alexandre Beneteau, called En avant le Pré! Citizen and independent list.
Voters will have to choose between the following lists, according to the order of publication of the prefecture:
- The ecological and citizen left, carried by Delphine Debord (supported by the LFI, the Left Party, EELV and PEP’s).
- Alternative gervaisienne, worn by Grégoire Roger (without label)
- Forward the Meadow! Citizen and independent list, worn by Alexandre Beneteau (without label)
- In the meadow, the change, with Alexandre Saada carried by Alexandre Saada (LREM / Modem)
- Le Pré in the heart, the left and the ecologists with Laurent Baron worn by Laurent Baron (PS)
- Workers’ struggle. Make the workers’ camp heard worn by Patrice Zahn (Lutte Ouvrière)
Second round on December 12
The Council of State canceled the elections following an error by “the citizen list of Pré Saint-Gervais” in the drafting of its ballot paper. At issue: 42 ballot papers from this list, deemed invalid because the nationality of a candidate did not appear, while this is mandatory by law.
These ballots had been used by voters despite the urgent reprinting of new compliant ballots. During the counting, the 42 ballots were invalidated. However, Laurent Baron was elected in the first round with only seven votes in advance. The second round of elections will be held Sunday 12 December 2021.
