SEGA announced in April this yearAcquired Finnish game company RovioThe deal, now officially closed, was acquired by SEGA for RovioAbout 93.6% equitythe actual transaction amount is about 776 million US dollars.

SEGA officially completed the acquisition of Rovio, the Finnish game company that created the “Angry Birds” series, and acquired 93.6% of its shares

As previously stated by SEGA president Harumi Satomi, the acquisition of Rovio Entertainment Oyj will ensure SEGA’s ability to develop in the mobile game market, and at the same time attract more players to support through games such as “Angry Birds”.

On the other hand, as SEGA begins to expand its content assets other than games, it is expected that Rovio’s “Angry Birds” series will also expand the market development opportunities such as movies, TV series, or authorized theme peripherals and stores. Whether it will continue to launch new “Angry Birds” series of games, or launch products combined with SEGA’s existing assets and content, is yet to be confirmed.

However, after Rovio launched the “Angry Birds” series of games and created a lot of profits through derivative animations and film works, there were actually no impressive follow-up works. Even the “Angry Birds” follow-up The work also failed to generate heat when the original game was launched, so it depends on whether SEGA has changed after acquiring Rovio.
