Little Lyna made her appearance more than a month in advance this Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in the Aushopping Englos Les Géants shopping mall, near Lille. Mom and baby are doing well. The little family is recovering from their emotions at the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul maternity ward in Lille.
Early afternoon, Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Dylan is taking his rounds as a security guard at the shopping complex when he receives a radio call reporting that a lady is going to give birth in the restroom.
On site, he and his colleague Ali realize that the work has already begun. One stays with Jennifer (the future mother) and Laurent (the future father) the other calls the firefighters but, not even time to hang up and have read any instructions that the little one was already pointing at the end of Ring.
“It put a little pressure on us, we’re not trained for it,” Dylan smiles today, but “Immediately the baby cried and I was reassured.” If the cord was cut and the placenta was extracted by the Samu who arrived shortly after, Ali remembers being a volunteer with his colleague Dylan. “We said to ourselves: let’s go! he remembers. We helped the lady take off her pants, we put compresses and a scarf on the ground and the little one came out.” Ali concludes: “It’s a superb story, we will never forget it here.”
“It all happened in 15 minutes,” explains Laurent. “We had come to buy winter clothes for the children. My wife wanted to go to the toilet, I accompanied her and when I was waiting, a lady came to tell me that my wife was going to give birth.”
Lying down and taken care of by the security guards and her partner, Jennifer confides that she had a little stomach ache before coming to do the shopping but that the little one was expected on December 11.
Lyna delights her parents, she measures 47.5 cm and weighs 2.390 kg. The shopping gallery has had flowers delivered to Saint-Vincent-de-Paul and communicates that a gift awaits little Lyna (and the family) when she leaves the maternity ward. But shh, it’s also a surprise.
