Second victory! The Latvian national team beat France in overtime

The match was nearing completion, but three minutes before the end of regulation time, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare again restored the balance on the scoreboard and sent the game into overtime.

In extra time, both teams had the opportunity to score, but the goal happened literally a second before the end of overtime – Daugavins robbed his opponent, found himself alone in front of the goal and threw it into the top corner. Thus, the captain of the Latvian national team brought the team victory in overtime for the second match in a row.

In the next match, the Latvian team will play against the Kazakhstan team. The game will take place on May 14 at 17:20. The French will take to the ice against the Polish national team on the same day.

Denmark – Canada

In a parallel match that took place in Prague, the Canadian team won a major victory over the Danish team – 5:1 (2:0, 0:1, 3:0).

The most productive player among the winners was 18-year-old striker Connor Bedard. He scored a double and made an assist. Dawson Mercer, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Dylan Cozens also scored. The only goal for the Danes was scored by Christian Weise Mathiasen.

After two matches, the Canadian team topped the Group A table with six points. Denmark is fifth with three points.
