License player boss Sebastian Kehl from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has protected the recently criticized coach Lucien Favre (62). “Lucien is authentic as he is. He is extremely meticulous in his way of working. The public discussions around him were sometimes very unfair,” said the 40-year-old in the “Sportbuzzer” interview: “Lucien Favre’s handwriting is recognizable.”
Throat and the difference
BVB officials had recently issued a job guarantee to Favre, who has a contract until 2021. It was only on Thursday that sports director Michael Zorc said clearly: “We are now entering the new season in this constellation. We want to attack again there.”
The Swiss remained untitled in his first two years in Dortmund. “We absolutely don’t have to be ashamed of our performance this season,” said Kehl, who still sees a difference from Bayern Munich: “If they are so stable, it will be difficult to get past them.”
Kehl was optimistic about the future of the courted young star Jadon Sancho (20). “We expect Jadon to play at BVB next season and we would all be very happy about the quality he gives our team and the differences he makes,” said Kehl.
