Seats in Jaguar Land Rover cars will imitate walking

According to statistics, more than a quarter of the world’s population leads a sedentary lifestyle. This leads to weakening of the muscles of the legs, back pain, and also increases the chances of getting serious injuries when falling or straining. One solution to the problem is the creation of seats that simulate walking, which reduces the harm to health on long trips.

The technology proposed by JLR is an electric actuator mounted in the seat cushion, alternately changing the shape of the left and right sides. In this way, the thigh muscles are stimulated, which for the brain creates the illusion of a leisurely walk.
