Pieter-Jan Huygens was last seen at the Blaarmeersen on Thursday in the late afternoon. The thirty-something from Lede often went jogging there. Because he did not return, the alarm was raised.
Yesterday the Missing Persons Cell already scoured the Blaarmeersen. His car was found near the domain, but the man himself was not. “We keep all hypotheses open,” says Alain Remue of the Missing Persons Unit. “There is no real evidence that anything criminal has happened. But it is certainly alarming because it is not his habit to disappear like that.”
Today a search continues for the missing man. Detection dogs and a helicopter were already used in the searches. “Everything is looked at that can be meaningful”, it says.
