Sean Penn ready to boycott the Oscars: “If Zelensky does not speak at the ceremony, I will cast my statuettes” – The video

Actor and director Sean Penn appealed to the Academy in an interview with Cnn: make people talk Volodymyr Zelensky during the ceremony of the Oscar. If he was not given a voice, Penn called on his audience to boycott the event (“I urge my audience not to see that stuff”). The actor also said he was ready to cast his statuettes. “I understand that the decision has been made not to give him the floor,” underlined the artist, who has won the award twice in his career (for Mystic River in 2003 and for Milk in 2008). “I find it a really terrible choice, the lowest moment in the entire history of Hollywood.” The appeal was welcomed by co-host of the Oscars ceremony Amy Schumer, who relaunched it. Penn was in Ukraine shooting a documentary when the conflict broke out and there he had the opportunity to meet the Ukrainian president. “If we let Ukraine fight alone, we lose our soul like America,” he said.
