screens: “A prince in New York 2” arrives in 2021

Akeem is back, and he’s become king! Reigning over the kingdom of Zamunda, the character played by Eddie Murphy will return to New York with his faithful sidekick Semmi (Arsenio Hall), in order to find his son there, whose existence he has just learned. Such is the pitch of “A Prince in New York 2”, which will arrive on Prime Video on March 5, 2021, failing a theatrical release, thirty-three years after the original 1988 film directed by John Landis.

This time, Craig Brewer (who had previously directed Eddie Murphy in the Netflix biopic “Dolemite is my Name”) will be in charge. The cast will include Wesley Snipes, Kiki Layne (“If Beale Street Could Talk”, “Captive State”) and Eddie Murphy’s daughter, Bella. Just revealed, the trailer shows that the two main actors will each play several characters.

Notice to fans of Eddie Murphy: “The Beverly Hills Cop 4” will also be released soon in streaming and not in theaters, but on Netflix.
