The present study work was completed in the focus module I “Scouting and squad planning” in the fifth semester of the sports science degree. The main objective of the module is to convey the basics of scouting and squad planning. A written elaboration, a study paper, was selected as the examination performance of the module. This includes nine questions or task processing, which are processed subsequently in the order. In front of the answer to the task, the question or task is mentioned for better understanding. In the course of the study work, a club from the first or second federal league should be chosen, which serves as a practical example for the present work. The selected football club is the club “Borussia Dortmund” playing in the first Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund, also popularly known as “BVB”, was founded in 1909 and currently plays in the first Bundesliga. The first men’s team has a squad size of 32 players, who are on average 24.6 years old. The most valuable player measured by market value is Jude Bellingham with a value of approximately €110,000,000, the cumulative total market value is €519,200,000. Borussia Dortmund won the Champions League once, the German Championship eight times and the DFB Cup five times.
