Schools Open August 18, Mayor of Serang: If you don’t study, it’s a fool

SERANG, KOMPAS.com – Guardian City of Serang Syafrudin confirmed face-to-face learning for elementary and junior high school students will start on August 18, 2020.

To prepare it, the Serang City Education and Culture Office held a face-to-face learning simulation at SDN 2 Kota Serang, Friday (14/8/2020).

“In order to face the teaching and learning activities which will be opened on August 18 tomorrow, we will do a simulation,” said Syafrudin to reporters, Friday.

Syafrudin explained, the simulation was carried out to see the readiness of facilities and infrastructure in schools.

In addition, the simulation is also used to ensure schools implement health protocols, from entering the environment to returning home.

“Our children must first wash their hands, put them on hand sanitizer, check the temperature, wear a mask. and adjust the distance so that the transmission of covid will not occur in our school children, “said Syafrudin.

Syafrudin also asked the teachers to run rapid test before teaching to ensure a healthy body condition and free from Covid-19.

“We especially hope that teachers in the city canrapid test the teacher, the teacher is in good health, “said Syafrudin.

If a Covid-19 case arises in face-to-face learning, the Serang City Government will close schools again and implement a learning system online.

“If there is transmission in one class or the school environment will be closed again,” he said.

According to him, parents must agree with face-to-face learning so that their children are guaranteed knowledge.

“All parents must agree. Because after all this learning must be applied to our children. If our children don’t learn, this is fooling,” said Syafrudin.

The number of students is limited

Head of the Serang City Education and Culture Office, Wasis Dewanto, said the number of students in one class would be limited.

In one class the number of students is usually 32 to 40 students. So this time the number will be limited, a maximum of 18 people with two full hours of study per day.

With the limitation on the number of students in one class, said Wasis, students will be divided into two groups.

“Later, there will be no rest. If there is a break, students will not be controlled. There will be no borrowing books, exchanging food or other things that can cause infection,” he said.
