Scare in the Algarve. A380 flew over beaches between Faro and Vilamoura just 300 meters from the sea – Executive Digest

This Wednesday afternoon had a busy start for swimmers who were on the Algarve beaches between Faro and Vilamoura, with the passage at just 300 meters in altitude of an Airbus380 by the Hy Fly company.

Bathers experienced some moments of apprehension as the largest passenger plane in the world passed twice, in low flight, for example, at Praia da Rochinha, also known as Praia dos Tomates.

According to RTP, the commander of the A380 plane was the owner of the airline, which was doing a training flight, without passengers.

The commander of the plane asked for authorization to land at Faro Airport but was not authorized due to the lack of conditions and the route turned out to be this flight that surprised and scared those who were on these beaches.

This Airbus380, with a capacity to transport up to 850 passengers, is usually parked in Beja, where it was already stopped for a long time and there was now the need to make this training flight.

The low-flying flights of this plane, about 73 meters long, even caused a few moments of panic among bathers who feared he would make an emergency landing. What did not happen.

Despite the desperate situation, Hi Fly had already released an alert to spotters and all aviation enthusiasts who are on vacation in the Algarve, for their Airbus A380 to pass through southern Portugal, on an occasion that would allow “ take unique photographs ”, stressed the company.

The ‘Super Jumbo’ of the Portuguese commercial aviation group, which bears the painting ‘Save The Coral Reefs’, an initiative of the Mirpuri Group, owner of the company, left Beja Airport, at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, and flew over the coast from the Algarve, namely over the cities of Faro and Vilamoura, for about an hour, on a verification flight, according to Hi Fly announced.

But this message, from an organized and planned initiative, will not have reached the vast majority of beachgoers on the Algarve beaches who lived moments of real despair.
