MEPPEL – A bingo evening. A game of cards. And then suddenly: banga lists. This shocking discovery came as a shock to the employees of the Avondrood senior complex in Meppel.
The peaceful existence in the care home was abruptly disrupted last week when a group of mischievous residents put together a clandestine PowerPoint presentation. Under the title The Charming Grandfathers of Avondrood the presentation featured photos of male residents, complete with cheeky comments about their appearance and perceived sexual prowess.
“You can see that Willem still has some fire in his eyes, I think he could have a wild night with a blue pill in it,” read one of the comments, while another photo was accompanied by the text: “ Gerard may have dentures, but his toothless smile works wonders for the ladies.”
Rumors are swirling through the retirement home as the residents whisperingly wonder who is behind the mischievous list. Some speculate that the list is the work of the infamous ‘card club’, while others whisper that the ‘bingo group’ has a hand in it.
The director of the retirement home distances himself from the shameless action of the elderly. “This is absolutely not representative of the atmosphere in our home,” he stated. “Our residents live in a quiet, respectful manner with each other. It may all sound very hot, but this is not what we stand for as a healthcare institution.”
