Scala cinema opens after just under eight months

Instead of streaming films at home, we can go to the cinema again in Leverkusen from today. The Scala in Opladen opens its doors after a forced break of almost eight months. However, only with 50% occupancy. The reason for this are the hygiene rules. Moviegoers have to sit well apart in a checkerboard pattern – and wear a mask.

The mask must also be in place to eat and drink popcorn, but it can be removed. According to Scala, the fact that you can buy popcorn, nachos and the like is not a given. There are currently delivery bottlenecks for cinema snacks across Germany. Cinema lovers can buy tickets online in advance or spontaneously at the box office. As of today, there are three films to choose from at Scala: Including the western crime thriller “Neues aus der Welt” with Tom Hanks and up-and-coming talent Helena Zengel. The Kinopolis in Wiesdorf will not follow suit until next week. It opens on July 1st.
