SC Heerenveen Shows Interest in Willem II’s Multifunctional Wing Defender Leroy Owusu

SC Heerenveen is interested in Willem II’s multifunctional wing defender Leroy Owusu. That reports the Leeuwarder Courant. It seems that with this interest, the Frisians will sort out a departure from Milan van Ewijk.

Owusu has an expiring contract in Tilburg and can therefore be picked up on a free transfer. In any case, Heerenveen would not be the only club that shows interest in the defender, because several clubs from the Netherlands and abroad are said to be after him. Owusu was born in Purmerend and played youth internationals for the Netherlands, but he also has Ghanaian nationality.

This season, Owusu played in forty matches for Willem II and he was an absolute star. He scored two goals and provided seven assists. The Tilburg team will continue to play in the Kitchen Champion Division next season after being eliminated in the play-offs by VVV Venlo. Owusu previously played for Jong Ajax, Excelsior, De Graafschap and Almere City.
