SC Bern has fallen deep, but has a chance to correct

HC Davos, opponents of the Bernese in the pre-play-offs, should be warned. The SCB knows from its own experience how to bring a supposedly bad season to a good end in the play-offs. In 2016, the Bernese had qualified for the play-offs in eighth place – and then became champions.

It’s Tuesday noon. Winter has returned to Bern. The forecourt in front of the Postfinance Arena is deserted. There is also an eerie silence inside Europe’s largest ice hockey stage. It’s like time pauses for a moment.
