Until this article is published, detikINET is still waiting for confirmation and response from SayurBox regarding this issue.

If true, this news is certainly surprising. In March this year, Sayurbox has just been poured with USD 120 million or more than IDR 1.7 trillion through Series C funding.

The money came from investors led by Northstar and Alpha JWC Ventures, with participation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

This Series C funding was obtained less than a year after the Series B funding of USD 15 million (Rp 216 billion) led by Astra. Since then, Sayurbox has experienced exponential growth through significant product additions, regional coverage expansion from Greater Jakarta to Surabaya and Bali, as well as building a network of micro warehouses for quick commerce services (quick commerce) for Sayurbox and SayurKilat.

The new funding is reportedly used to accelerate the penetration of Sayurbox services in new cities such as Bandung and several other cities, as well as expand Sayurbox’s end-to-end supply chain nationwide.

But then, in June, sayurbox conveyed the news of the closure of the Harvest Shop located in Kelapa Gading via their official Instagram account.

“The Kelapa Gading Harvest Shop has resigned as of June 20, 2022. Thank you to Panen Friends who have always been loyal to harvesting at Sayurbox,” the company wrote on the Instagram account @panen.official.

Vice President of People Culture & General Affairs Sayurbox Lady Meiske said the reason for closing the store was that the company wanted to adapt to economic conditions by focusing on profitable business areas. In addition, the company plans to expand online to the Jakarta and Surabaya areas.

sayurbox currently serving about 1 million customers in Java and Bali and working with more than 10,000 farmers throughout Indonesia. Regarding investors, Astra, Syngenta Group Ventures, and Global Brain, and several other investors have been recorded to have disbursed funds to this startup.
