Saxion mourns the death of Jan des Bouvrie (78): ‘He was very involved’ | Deventer

At the beginning of this academic year of the private higher professional education program Interior Design and Styling, part of the Jan des Bouvrie Academy, the designer himself was still present at the virtual start. “Jan was still very involved and came to Deventer regularly. During the start of this academic year, he addressed the newcomers. An amiable man who was proud of his students. They were always welcome with him. The management of the academy has been touched by his death, ” said spokesman Karin Effing.

Since 2005, students in Deventer have been trained as spatial designers who design the layout of living spaces, work locations and public spaces. “The training was developed in close collaboration with him. A design icon goes with him. We sympathize with the next of kin, ” says Effing.

As a tribute, the university of applied sciences puts all the social media channels of the program on white, the characteristic color of Jan des Bouvries.
