Sault lake, in Prémilhat (Allier), is a privileged place for picnics

With the particularly sunny weather, the tables at Sault’s pond were quickly taken over at noon, during this period, for more or less improvised picnics. Some are even forced to have lunch on the lawn, with or without a tablecloth. Students, families, workers, the reasons to take advantage of this bucolic environment are diverse and when it comes to meals, there is something for everyone.

Fast food for improvised picnics

Nathan, Alexis, Romain, Kevin and Sammy improvised a meal thanks to the nearby fast food and supermarket. The five work-study students at CFAI Désertines are back in the city for their end-of-year exams.

We saw that it was sunny this morning, we decided to eat outside. We came here because there is MacDo and the supermarket nearby.

Lots of workers on day break during the week

Many workers on a day break arrive in Sault with a homemade packed lunch. “We work in a school. We take advantage of the good weather and the fact that at the moment, there are very few children in the canteen to eat outside of school. It’s nice. The site is pretty, ”explains Isabelle.

Mandatory packed lunches with restaurant closings

Same thing for Romain and Joris. The two men are employed by a company which installs fiber in the agglomeration of Montluçonnais. They worked during confinement.

When the restaurants closed, they got into the habit of preparing their packed lunches.

“We have learned to manage and make our packed lunches. When it rains, we have no choice but to take shelter in the truck”

Roman (employee of a company that installs fiber)

So when the weather is nice, they take the opportunity to treat themselves to a small picnic outside, in a pleasant setting.

Respect the environment and pick up your waste

But for Romain and Joris as for Isabelle and her colleague Nathalie, there is no question of dirtying the Sault site with empty packaging or used towels. “If the bins are full, we leave with our waste. This weekend, people had left trash everywhere. It’s lamentable to spoil such a beautiful site! “, Insists Isabelle.
