Models and movie stars from around the world walked the red carpet during the Red Sea International Film Festival. Amnesty believes Saudi Arabia is trying to improve its reputation in this way.

Hefty dresses and star factor characterized the film festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, earlier in December. British model Naomi Campbell was among the guests. The same was the director of the Cannes festival, Thierry Frémaux.
The festival was held for the first time, three years after the cinema ban in the country was lifted in 2018. At that time, cinema had been banned since the early 80s.
